1st Bridal Shower!

The fun wedding events begin! Saturday, August 16th was the first day that I really felt like a bride. I went to my first dress fitting with my amazing seamstress and my awesome mom's in the morning and then went to my first Bridal Shower that was hosted by some aunts and cousins on the Boogaard side of the family! Here are a few pictures from our fun afternoon!

Mother of the Bride and my Maid of Honor

My family just overwhelmed me with their creativity and all the thought the put into every little detail! Everything was pink, green, and orange, our wedding colors!
And don't don't I have the cutest flower girl ever!

Even all the wrapping was in our colors! So fun!

My sister and her awesome roommates made me this really fun sash to wear! Thanks girls!

The awesome women to put this shower on for me I can not thank you enough!
Some of the most important women in my life!
My amazing and beautiful bridesmaids-Jennae and Mrs. Kristin Combs-and of course my maid of honor-Kristi- and my wonderful Mom and very soon to be Mother in Law! I was so grateful that she came down and got to meet my family and friends that I talk about so frequently! Thank you Deena!

And finally the really fun aprons that Aunt Debbie and the girls made for us! We can wait to get behind the stove!

Brandon and I were so overwhelemed about all the gifts we got. I think this is all starting to become very real to us! having such amazinf family and friends surrounding us during this time has been such a blessing and we thank you! We love you all very much!

Contentment

I am currently reading this great book that Angela Mooney gave to us girlfriends/wives of Dr. Mooney's interns last Christmas. It is called "Life Management for Busy Women" by Elizabeth George. It is really great. Throughout every chapter I have found myself feeling convicted about my attitude by a certain subject or feeling ashamed by the way I do spend my time.

In a chapter titled God's Guidelines for Your Money she listed this poem:

A Recipe for Contentment
Health enough to make work a pleasure;
Wealth enough to support your needs;
Strength enough to battle with difficulties and forsake them;
Grace enough to confess your sins and overcome them;
Patience enough to toil until some good is accomplished;
Charity enough to see some good in your neighbor;
Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others;
Faith enough to make real the things of God;
Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future.
.
.
This poem was so simple, yet it spoke greatness to me. This is exacly how our attitude needs to be on a daily basis. Brandon and I are in a bit of a nervous state right now in needing to find Brandon a full time job. This reminded me that though we have many needs at this time, so do others, and I need not fulfill my selfish thoughts of myself. God is faithful and we have full confidence He will provide. I pray that Brandon and I will continue to be strengthened during this time in our dependence in the Lord and that we can also be a blessing to others and continue to serve Him. Please, also, keep us in your prayers!
.
I also highly recommend this book to any "busy woman" which is basically all the women I know, so if you are a woman who is reading this, please go pick up this book!!

We love being Engaged!!

Here are just a few of our favorite Engagement Photos that the amazing Mrs. Laura Moore took! They were all so good! It was so hard to choose! Enjoy!!

We know that our wedding and honeymoon will be amazing but all these events leading up to it have been so fun! This has been such a great time where we have been learning a ton and experiencing these times with great friends and family. We are simply enjoying every minute of it, and thank you for all of you who have been apart of it with us!

Summer Fun!

So Brandon and I have been way behind on blogging since we have been back from Indonesia. This is something that we would really like to keep up on to stay in touch with all our family and friends! So we apoligize!

Since we have been back we have been going non stop with several of our closest friends' weddings and then ours! It has been an absolute blast and we feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and the blessings of getting to be a part of their special days! So here are a few pictures of the weddings we have been to this summer!

It began with Amber and Josh's (Josh is Brandon's cousin) wedding just a couple days after we got back. July 27th. Brandon was a groomsman at this wedding.

Then my best friend's wedding!! Krisitn and Jordan! August 2nd. Krisitn and I have been so blessed that we have been able to go through wedding things together. This was such a special wedding for me. I can't believe it is already come and gone. I was a Bridesmaid in her wedding and now she will be in mine!

Then Ashley (one of our closest family friends) and Scott's wedding. August 8th! This wedding was absolutely gorgeous, and so was the bride! My mom, sister, brother, and I so danced the night away! I don't think I have ever had so much fun at a wedding! It was a great way to end the summer. Thank you Ashley and Scott!

And last but not least Staci and Brendon's wedding! August 10th. Brandon and I both got to be apart of this wedding. We know the Hunts :) from CBU and we also attend the same church. We have been deeply blessed by their friendship and look forward to our fun times with them in the future as newleyweds! They will both also be in our wedding party!

There will be several more posts to come so keep looking!!
