Graduation #4

Brandon and I got to celebrate the graduation of our cousin Jamie and many of the other wonderful seniors that we love graduate from Woodcrest Christian High School Thursday evening.

Woodcrest does an amazing job with their graduations and we were once again very impressed. their student speakers were amazing- I was in tears hearing their testimonies-and their main speaker (a teacher at WCHS) did an awesome job! He encouraged the seniors to "Graduate Down" and take the path in life as Christ-be humble, serve and love one another, and obey Christ above all. It was the best graduation speech we have ever heard and were so encouraged.

Us at the graduation, which was also our 8 month wedding anniversary! yeah!

Zach and Janelle. We love you guys and were so blessed by the relationships we were able to form with you and many others during our times working, teching, and coaching at Woodcrest.

Congrats Jamie! We love you and are excited to see where God directs you in the future!

Well graduation season was fun and now we are ecited to travel back to Clovis together this weekend to enjoy Kevin's graduation party with our family and friends!!

Graduation #3

Justin's graduation from King High School!
Justin has been a part of our youth group at FBC Norco and it has been a joy to watch him grow in maturity and his love for Christ over these past few years.

Congrats Justin! We love you and are proud of you!

Graduation #2

Graduation #2 was a special one for me. it was my little brother's high school graduation from Clovis High School! He is the last of us kids to graduate from CHS so it was bitter, sweet. We are all proud of this school and it was sad for us to think that we don't know what might bring us back to this school.
Clovis graduations are always really special and it was a wonderful evening of celebration and fellowship with family! Unfortunately Brandon had to work and was unable to make it. :(
Here are some pictures of the evening.

I always love the way they set it up!
This is probably the best picture of our Grandma!

CONGRATS KEVIN! We are so proud of you and love you tons!!

Don't Waste Your Life- Music Video "Awesome"

Do you treasure Christ above all things? Do you live like you treasure Christ above all things? This is the call for all Christains to live for Christ full heartedly with everything that you have in all things that you do! Anything less is not worthy of Christ as He has given His life that we might have life and have it abundantly, so let us live like it now! He died in your place, and took the wrath that you deserved! Do not waste any more time doing trivial things that are damning to your soul, but rather place all of your affections on Christ and think upon Him for it will rescue your soul! Please enjoy Dr. John Piper in this amazing video they have put together for God's glory and enjoy to the satisfaction of your soul in Christ Jesus and then Get It and Go live!

Graduation #1

Memorial Day weekend was a busy one for us. Brandon had an incredibly long 3 day baseball tournament he had to work and I traveled up the Clovis to spend time with my mom and celebrate the graduation of 2 of my closest girlfriends Jennae and Kristin!

These girls have worked so hard and I am so proud of all their accomplishments at Fresno State! They are 2 proud Bulldogs and I can't wait to see where the Lord guides each of them and the amazing passions and gifts He has granted them!

Congratulations girls! I am soo thankful for you and how we have been able to stay so close amidst the distance these past 4 years! I cherish both of your friendships more than you know!

My mom and I also were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend together. My poor mama was so afraid that once I was married we would not get to enjoy time like these together, but I knew we would and for that I am so thankful!

After graduation we enjoy an amazing lunch that was topped off with huge chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Thanks Mom!!!

Then Brandon and I got back into Riverside about the same time Monday night and were too exhausted to cook, so we took advantage of the generous gift cards given to us from the Woodcrest Swim Team and enjoyed a wonderful night out at The Olive Garden!

Summer Reading

Brandon and I have made a goal to read at least a book a month this summer. So far I am greatly enjoying this challenge and looking forward to getting into the many books on my always growing book list.

At the end of April, though it took me several months, I finally finished Jane Eyre. I enjoyed the book but am not too settled with the ending! I need someone to discuss this with! :)
Then in May I read The Pastor's Wife by Subina Wurmbrand. This book was recommended to me and I could not put it down. It told of her time under Communist rule in Romania. She spend years in prisons and labor camps. Many days I put it down feeling bitter in my stomach for all the torture she went through for the sake of the Gospel. Not standing up for her faith was never an option to her. Her great love for Christ flowed out of her as she continue to lead many to Christ amidst her pain and torture. It was extremely convicting. We just don't know what that kind of cruelty and persecution is like. It has really challenged me to be more bold in sharing my faith. Christ gave us, as undeserving as we are, life everlasting, He is worth sacrificing everything for! I am so thankful I read it and recommend it to everyone.

Now I am, again, trying to tackle The Big Fisherman by Lloyd Douglas. This, along with many other old classic novels, was given to me by my grandmother who is a big reader. Ii is 581 pages. I tried to read it last summer and it never happened so I am trying again, and am already enjoying it more!My goal is to complete it by the end of June, but with all that we have going on I am afraid my leisurely reading time will be at a minimum!

We would love to hear what you are reading and join us in our little book club this summer!!

Long Time. . .

Wow, it has been a long time since we have blogged. Our Internet hasn't been working and we have been crazy busy as normal, but we have lots of fun new things to post, which will be done shortly.

For now, we wanted to share a new web site with you that my husband found that is great for women seeking to be encouraged and challenged to pursue righteousness and to raise their families (or soon to be families) up loving the Lord.

Enjoy.
